From the Directing Medicine Man
January 1, 2007
My fellow Scouters,
With the New Year we always look forward with great anticipation to warming weather and to our return to Camp Arrowhead. With the help of the Great Spirit I know you will be able to share this anticipation with your Scouts.
Once again the Tribe of Lone Bear grew by leaps and bounds in 2006. Again in all sessions many new tribesmen and tribeswomen were exposed to the life changing commitments that Lone Bear inspires.
The year 2006 saw 64 new Foxmen, 94 new Braves, 11 new Warriors, 19 Honorary Warriors and 11 Honored Women complete “ the long and hazardous trail, “ that led them to the Inner Circle of Lone Bear. We ask you as Troop leaders to review the new requirements for youth membership, and have your recommendation forms filled out and ready to turn in on registration day at camp.
Every year we see such enthusiasm and interest in the Tribe of Lone Bear in the eyes and voices of young campers. We hope as leaders you will make every effort to encourage these young people to join Lone
Bear with your full support.
This year we plan to streamline scheduling of Lone Bear activities thus helping your camp schedule even
more.
I will remind you that the deadline is March 1, to nominate adult tribesmen and tribeswomen for the Tribal Council. As always we are looking for leaders who are dedicated to Scouting and Camp Arrowhead who
will make good leaders and good youth counselors.
The following pages should provide answers to many questions you may have. If you have further questions of any kind, please feel free to contact me. My email address is mmbobwhite@aol.com.
